Leads vs Contacts (and where Deals fit)
Leads are new opportunities; Contacts are your directory; Deals are pipeline revenue.
Overview
LeadLock uses three ideas consistently: **Leads** for new or inbound interest, **Contacts** for people and businesses you already track long-term, and **Deals** for opportunities moving through the **Pipeline** (stages like estimate → quote → won).
Quick definitions
- 1
**Leads** — first touch from forms, chat, SMS, calls, webhooks, or manual entry. Work them from the Leads list and timeline.
- 2
**Contacts** — CRM directory records (rolodex). Convert a lead to a contact when they become a lasting relationship.
- 3
**Deals** — revenue opportunities on the Pipeline, often linked to a lead and/or contact and optionally a quote.
